About the course
Generative AI is reshaping policy development, public communication, and governance workflows. Yet policy contexts carry uniquely high stakes: errors can mislead the public, distort evidence, or compromise institutional trust. This course provides a practical, accessible, and ethically grounded introduction to using AI responsibly across policy and governance tasks. You will learn how AI models interpret policy information, where inaccuracies and risks arise, and how to scrutinise AI-generated content for evidence alignment, legal accuracy, and political sensitivity. The course shows you how to co-author policy documents with clear human–AI role boundaries, how to prototype scenarios and consultation tools safely, and how to identify bias, exclusion, and harmful narratives in policy outputs. Using the Six-Domain AI Capability Framework (2026 Edition), you will build capability across awareness, co-agency, generative prototyping, ethics and impact review, governance and transparency, and reflective learning. Whether you work in government, civil service, NGOs, think tanks, regulation, or civic participation, this course helps you use AI in a way that strengthens—not undermines—evidence-based decision-making and democratic accountability. Enrol now to develop a transparent, responsible, and governance-aligned AI practice for policy and public-sector work.
